I’m Joanna, and I would be delighted to help you plan your countryside wedding using my calm, methodical and patient approach.

From my home in Oxfordshire, I help busy, nature-loving couples plan weddings bursting with greenery, fun, fresh air and elegant touches. With a soft spot for interior design magazines and meticulous to-do lists, nothing thrills me more than pulling together every intricate details of a countryside wedding. Whilst I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with two lively labradors, one pampered cat, two grown-up children, and of course, my husband!

How did I get into wedding planning?

After having my children, moving to the countryside and introducing our Labrador puppy to the family, I decided my hands weren’t quite full enough. I missed the buzz of my former corporate job, organising dinners, garden parties and elegant balls for senior members of the Bar and Judiciary.

Whilst on a beautiful beach in Corsica, named Palombaggia – I had a lightbulb moment. I decided I would train and set up my own event planning business, and so Joanna Wilford Weddings was born.

Combining my professional experience in planning elegant events in London, with my desire to work from a place of freedom, and of course my undeniable love for scrupulous schedules, I took a natural step into the wedding and event planning industry and have never looked back.

Freedom and joy should be at the heart of your planning experience.

I provide my clients with freedom to meet their busy schedule, and utter joy when carrying out the planning tasks they actually love (because who doesn’t love cake tasting? I’ll leave that part to you!).

I love a project. Sit me in my office with a cup of coffee on one side, a carefully constructed schedule on the other, and maybe a moodboard of opulent florals in the background somewhere – and I’m in my happy place.

It takes time and careful attention to detail to plan a luxurious, bespoke event – time that you may not have as a busy working professional. Allow me to step in and take the organisational elements away,  whilst you enjoy the fun!

What do I love?

Here’s a handful of things you might want to know about me:

Coffee plays a very important role in my life – I adore my coffee machine and can’t function without a classic, warming black mug of the good stuff first thing in the morning.

A beach holiday with a peppering of culture and adventure thrown in there is my idea of heaven.

I just can’t get enough of interior design magazines – you’ll find me sifting through my growing collection at any given moment.

From walking the dogs to practicing the downward dog at yoga, keeping active soothes my soul.

My idea of the perfect wedding would be in an outdoor marquee, surrounded by lush countryside greenery with acres of space for guests and bespoke, meaningful touches in every corner!
