A Stylish Summer Celebration: Amelie & Will at Ardington

by | 18 July

Some wedding days just sparkle from start to finish, and Amelie and Will’s at the beautiful Ardington House in Oxfordshire was exactly that. From the glorious sunshine to the elegantly relaxed atmosphere, every detail came together to create a truly unforgettable celebration.

Set within rolling parkland and surrounded by water, Ardington House offered the perfect blend of grandeur and charm. Amelie and Will wanted a day that felt elegant yet easy-going, and this stunning Georgian manor set the tone beautifully.

We were blessed with a picture-perfect summer’s day, and the couple’s outdoor ceremony was held at the venue’s classical temple, an idyllic spot overlooking the river. Flowers by Kirsty had adorned the temple with romantic, abundant blooms in soft, seasonal shades, creating a dreamy floral backdrop for the heartfelt ceremony led by the ever-warm and wonderful Tara the Celebrant. With live music from the talented string group Manor House Music, it was a truly emotional and joyful moment as Amelie and Will exchanged vows beneath the sun-dappled trees.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and canapés on the lawn, with the elegant façade of Ardington House providing the perfect backdrop. As always, Fingers & Forks Catering delivered a flawless reception, combining style and substance in equal measure. The marquee reception was a real highlight of the day. We wanted it to feel like an extension of the gardens, and with Kirsty’s beautiful florals and lashings of foliage, we brought the outside in. The space had a fresh English country feel, with tall floral centrepieces adding height and drama to the tables. The look was refined, romantic, and effortlessly stylish.

As the sun dipped lower, the atmosphere shifted seamlessly into relaxed revelry. Guests sipped on espresso martinis during the evening reception (always a hit) and danced the night away to the brilliant Vivid Band, whose energy kept the dancefloor buzzing well into the night. Amelie changed into a chic, shorter dress for the evening – a lovely modern touch that allowed her to dance freely and really enjoy the party. The joy in the room was utterly infectious.

Every moment was beautifully captured by Jonny Gouldstone Photography, with the day also filmed by the talented Andrew Collins FIlms, both of whom documented the day with such care and creativity.

It was a joy to work with Amelie and Will. They were thoughtful, stylish, and full of heart—and it was a real pleasure to help bring their vision to life. Their day at Ardington House was not only elegant and beautiful, but also warm, relaxed, and filled with love from start to finish.

If you’re dreaming of your own English countryside wedding, do get in touch—I’d love to help you create a day as special as this one.
