How to Choose Your Wedding Date

Before you even begin thinking about your wedding venue, florist, stationer or wedding planner, you need to decide on a wedding date. There is no perfect date for a wedding, as much as we might wish there was!

But there are certain factors that can go into your decision of when to tie the knot, depending on your own preferences and the kind of wedding you would like.

But before you read on, hello! I’m Jo, of Joanna Wilford Weddings and I help city dwellers plan amazing, quintessentially English weddings in the beautiful countryside of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire.

I’ve helped so many people create their dream day regardless of the season so let’s look at my three things to consider when choosing your wedding date!

Firstly, which season would you like to get married in? If your dream wedding is a tipi with lots of outdoor seating then I would steer clear of winter! Do you have a favourite season, or do you have a favourite seasonal flower that you’d just love in your bouquet?

Next up, what month did you meet, or have your first date? Most couples tend to mark this point in the year so would you like to cement that month in your relationship calendar or create a new date to remember in the year?

And lastly, a re there other family anniversaries or birthdays to keep clear of? There’s nothing worse than booking your wedding date and then remembering it’s your parents’ anniversary or your nephew’s birthday!
