Oxfordshire Wedding Venues

by | 17 October

Planning a wedding in Oxfordshire is a dream for many couples, and I’m thrilled to help you discover some of the county’s most enchanting venues. With years of experience as a marquee wedding planner, I specialise in creating elegant, personalised weddings that capture the essence of the English countryside. Whether you’re looking for a grand historic backdrop, a serene garden setting, or something a bit more rustic, Oxfordshire has it all.

Bodleian Library, Oxford

For those who dream of a wedding steeped in history, the Bodleian Library is a truly magical choice. It’s one of the oldest libraries in Europe, and its stunning architecture offers an unforgettable setting. Picture yourself walking down the aisle in the Divinity School, with its intricate ceiling and historic atmosphere, perfect for a timeless and elegant wedding.

Ardington House

Ardington House is one of my favourite venues for marquee weddings. Set amidst idyllic parkland, this Georgian manor is wonderfully versatile. You can choose to marry in the house or by the riverside temple, before celebrating with a marquee reception overlooking the lake. Ardington House offers exclusive use, so you and your guests can fully enjoy the tranquil surroundings in complete privacy.

Cornwell Manor

Cornwell Manor is the epitome of English country charm. The manor house, surrounded by formal gardens and beautiful countryside, creates a romantic and private atmosphere for your special day. It’s perfect for couples who want a quintessentially English wedding, with the option of an outdoor ceremony followed by a marquee reception in the walled garden.

Hadsham Farm

If you’re after a rustic, countryside vibe, Hadsham Farm is ideal. Nestled in the rolling hills of North Oxfordshire, this family-run farm provides a stunning lakeside setting for your marquee wedding. It’s a lovely blank canvas where you can get creative with your theme, bringing in your personal style while making the most of the natural beauty around you.

Cherwell Boathouse

For something a little different, Cherwell Boathouse offers a riverside setting in the heart of Oxford. Imagine a ceremony by the river followed by a charming reception in the boathouse marquee, with punting boats drifting by as you celebrate with your loved ones. It’s an intimate venue that brings a touch of laid-back elegance to any wedding day.

Oxford Botanic Gardens

For garden lovers, the Oxford Botanic Gardens are a beautiful and unique wedding venue. The lush gardens offer a serene backdrop for a smaller, more intimate celebration. You can exchange vows surrounded by the beauty of nature, followed by a marquee reception in the peaceful grounds.

Oxford Colleges

The Oxford colleges provide an unparalleled sense of history and grandeur. Many of these stunning buildings offer the chance to marry in their chapels or gardens, with beautiful dining halls for your reception. Each college has its own distinct character, so there’s plenty of choice whether you prefer something traditional or a bit more contemporary.

Foxhill Manor

Nestled in the Cotswolds, Foxhill Manor is a luxurious country house hotel that offers a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. It’s ideal for couples who want an exclusive, high-end wedding without the formality of a traditional venue. With its rolling countryside views and sumptuous interiors, it’s the perfect setting for a stylish and intimate celebration.
